Seymour, back at No. 1 singles after playing No. 1 doubles last fall, went 3-0 on Wednesday to win the Topeka High Invitational. She lost just three games in four sets, including a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Olathe East's Katie Eggers in the final.
It marked the third Topeka tournament title for Seymour, who won the singles crown in 1997 and the doubles crown with Nicole Gravino last year.
"I think the fact she can win it three times in three different years shows that she is one of the top players in the state," LHS coach Dick Wedel said. "She has been able to bounce back from injuries. She has been able to play at the top of the heap in singles and doubles. It's a very special that can do that.
"If she keeps this up I may have to name Court One the 'Brooke Seymour court.' ''
