Gravino, who transferred from Lawrence High, became the first student to be named athlete of the week at both city schools.
"What Laura is accomplishing here is going to be hard for any player to match in a long, long time," FSHS coach Jon Renberger said.
Gravino improved to 15-0 with a first-place finish in the Marysville Invitational on Saturday (with a 32-1 record) and three wins in a home quad Thursday (while going 24-1).
"What it's doing for her is giving her experience with being patient, focusing on the ball and minimizing unforced errors," Renberger said. "And knowing that she's a heavy favorite and that if she just plays her game, business will be taken care of. That, I think, will help her in the long run."
