The future bride, the daughter of Larry and Ronda Hopkins, Sioux City, Iowa, and Bob and Cindi Miller, Emporia, is a graduate of Emporia High School. She holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in education from Kansas University. She is a Spanish teacher at Forest Glen Elementary School.
The future groom, the son of Jay and Sue Renbarger, Lapel, Ind., is a graduate of Lapel High School. He holds a bachelor's degree from Purdue University. He is pursuing a master's degree at Indiana Wesleyan and is an international account manager at Delco Remy International.
The couple plan a Nov. 27, 1999, wedding at Leawood United Methodist Church in Overland Park.
How they met
Holly was a Spanish teacher in the Blue Valley school district working with the wife of one of Chad's co-workers. The couple knew that Chad and Holly had to meet. They set Chad and Holly up on a blind date even though Chad was living in Indianapolis and Holly in Overland Park. Not surprising to the matchmakers, Chad's work load in Kansas City increased dramatically. Through hours of telephone conversations, plane trips and long car rides, Holly and Chad's love grew greater and greater. On Feb. 25, 1999, on the sandy shores of Cocoa Beach, Chad asked Holly to be his wife.
