AT THE PILOT CLUB of Lawrence's Sept. 13 meeting, Stephanie Nutt, the club's scholarship recipient from Lawrence High School, and her mother, Laura, were present. Charity Hought, the club's scholarship recipient from Free State High School, attended a previous meeting.

THE LAWRENCE DUPLICATE BRIDGE CLUB regular Monday night game attracted 10 tables. The game was stratified and directed by Virginia Seaver.

North-South winners were led by James Gunn and Harry Shaffer followed by Dave Piro and Robert Solick. Third place was Lou Ann Lee and Chuck DeVoe followed by Shirlie Vaughn and Sally Taylor. Winners in the C session were Michael and Cathy Blumenfeld followed by Martie Hartman and Frances Vogel.

The East-West winners were led by Virginia Seaver and Paul Heitzman followed by Shirley Reese and Klee Zaricky. Third place was Glenna and Eldon Herd followed by Steve Vossler and Dan Schultz. Winners in the C session were Bobbie Figgins and Ann Tams followed by Lois Clark and Martine Paludan.

KAW VALLEY QUILTERS GUILD will host its 22nd annual Quilt Show Sept. 22-26 at Watkins Community Museum of History, 11th and Massachusetts streets. The opening reception, to which the public is invited, will be 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Quilts will be on display from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 26. The Guild is requesting a $2 donation at the door to help defray expenses.

THE LOCAL BRANCH of the American Association for University Women, headed by Diana Carlin, will host about 40 members from eastern Kansas next Saturday. Marilyn Greathouse will be one of the presenters.
