Central falls
to Aquinas
Central Junior High's freshman football team showed improvement Thursday but fell to 0-3 with a 22-14 loss to Overland Park Aquinas.
Central's touchdowns came on a pair of long running plays. Chris Berry scored on a 55-yard run, and quarterback Bijai Jones scored on a 95-yard run.
Tyrone Laypon converted a two-point run after Berry's touchdown.
Jones, who also plays defensive back, made two interceptions, and defensive end Casey Place recovered a fumble.
Central (0-3) plays Shawnee Heights at 3:50 p.m. Thursday at home.
