Positions: Running back/nose guard.
The game: Phelps, a two-way starter, had three receptions for 78 yards, including two for touchdowns -- a 59-yarder and 12-yarder -- in Lawrence's 20-14 loss to Manhattan. Phelps finished with 137 all-purpose yards with 35 rushing yards and 24 yards on kickoff returns to go with the receiving yardage.
Comment: "The first touchdown pass was indicative of Ryan," LHS coach Dirk Wedd said. "It wasn't very pretty, but he got the job done. He broke one or two tackles and outran people who were faster than he is."
