Services for Charles Raymond Jolly, 79, Parsons, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, with Masonic rites by Parsons Lodge No. 117, A.F. & A.M., and military honors by Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Jolly died Monday, Sept. 13, 1999, at the Good Samaritan Center, Parsons.

He was born June 24, 1920, in Sugar Creek, Mo., the son of Joseph H. and Viola (Faulkner) Jolly. He graduated from Smith Cotton High School, Sedalia, Mo. He moved to Parsons in 1993 from Bartlett.

Mr. Jolly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He then worked for Western Electric, and then the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. He became assistant vice president with Comet Industries in 1963, and retired in 1982.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, Parsons, and had been a member and deacon of the First Christian Church in Denison, Tex. He was also a former member of the First Christian Church, Waco, Tex. He was a member of the Billie Mosse Lodge No. 1152, A.F. & A.M., Denison, Tex., and a Boy Scout leader in Denison, Tex.

He married Mildred Moser in 1946 in Sedalia, Mo. They later divorced. He married Reba N. Jones on July 16, 1993, in Washington, Mo. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Sharon Vaughn, Lawrence, and Vicki Mendicki, Parsons; a stepson, Richard Jones, Wichita; a brother, James, Urich, Mo.; a sister, Mary Susan Cramer, Blue Springs, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to the First Christian Church or Hospice Inc., and they may be sent in care of the Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 112 N. 26th St., Parsons 67357.
