I'm curious as to why the Douglas County sheriff's vehicles on certain occasions the past few weeks have been parked on the green space on Rhode Island Street behind the Judicial and Law Enforcement Center?
Douglas County Sheriff Loren Anderson said the vehicles were put in the vacant lots temporarily because they are being traded in for new cruisers. The auto dealers bidding on the contract needed them in a separate location so they could determine their trade-in value. However, more law enforcement cars will be parked there over the next three weeks because the construction of a new tower will take away spaces in the law enforcement center parking lot.
