Jefferson North 28,

McLouth 6

McLouth -- A Jefferson North backfield that McLouth coach Gerard Aligo characterized as "pretty salty" peppered the Bulldogs in a 28-6 high school football victory Friday night.

Josh Domann scored on runs of 8, 14, 15 and 16 yards and rushed for 187 yards on 19 carries to lead Jefferson North.

"He had his yards," Aligo said. "He was doing pretty much what we anticipated him doing. Their backfield was pretty salty."

McLouth's lone touchdown came on a 69-yard pass play from Aaron Gardner to Shane Duncan in the first quarter. The Bulldogs trailed just 7-6 after one quarter, but Jefferson North netted 14 points in the second period for a 21-6 halftime edge.

"The first half, we didn't do too bad, but we weren't aggressive enough," Alig said. "The second half, we did a lot of good things, although the score doesn't indicate it. The kids didn't give up."

The Bulldogs, who won their opener last week against Wathena, 46-24, fell to 1-1.

"We'll bounce back," Aligo said. "We held them on a couple fourth-down situations, and we were able to move the ball."

Gardner gained 45 yards on 12 carries for the Bulldogs.
