To the editor:
Upon reading the Lawrence Journal-World article "K-10 solution reached," I believe "Disillusion of the K-10 solution" would have been a more befitting title. A developer removes an access point to a frontage road off 23rd street and what penalty do the elected officials of the City of Lawrence and Douglas County deliver? The TAXPAYERS for the City of Lawrence and Douglas County get to share the tax burden of $20,000 or more for restoration of the access point to the frontage road off 23rd street. Lest we forget, that the new access point proposed will give the developer additional square footage gained by the new proposed access point.
Who's running this community? The elected officials for the City of Lawrence and Douglas County or the developers? You decide.
Melissa Loewenstein,
Lawrence.
