Kansas University's men's cross country team placed first, while the women placed fourth of six teams at Saturday's Bob Timmons Invitational at Rim Rock Farm.
KU senior Andy Tate, who won last week's season-opening meet at Southern Illinois, placed second overall in a time of 26:48.7. Brian Jensen snared fourth, Brent Behrens seventh, Pete Prince ninth and Brian Blachly 11th for the Jayhawks.
KU scored 33 points to win handily over Truman State, which came in second with 61 points.
KU's women were led by former Lawrence High runner Keely Malone. She placed 12th in 19:46.84. Sara Brinkley placed 20th, Kim Bratton 21st, Courtney Deutsch 22nd, Bridget Morrisey 23rd, Carly Kimbrough 28th and Eve Lamborn 29th.
The women scored 98 points. Arkansas won with 15 points.
