Olathe -- Olathe Frontier Trail stopped South, 36-12, in ninth grade football on Thursday. Chris Fulton scored on runs of 95 and 55 yards. Dominick Harrell and Kenny Poverlein had several tackles, while Wes Cook and Sean Carriger had strong games on offense. South, 1-1, will play host to Olathe California Trail Thursday at South.
Central falls, 40-6
Olathe -- Olathe Pioneer Trail popped Central, 40-6, in ninth grade junior high football on Thursday. Bijai Jones scored on an eight-yard run. James Bradshaw, Will Haney and Zack Taylor had fumble recoveries for Central, 0-2.
West wins, 6-0
Cole Cruse hauled in a 40-yard, second-quarter touchdown pass from Matt Berner for the game's only score as West defeated Olathe Indian Trail, 6-0, in city junior high football on Thursday at West. Joe Sicilian and Grant Steinbach were cited for defensive play for the Warhawks, 1-1.
Central eighth wins
Central's eighth grade defeated Washburn Rural, 30-6, in junior high football on Thursday at Central. Dain Dillingham scored two touchdowns while Shawn Pringle and Arvelle Trotter had one each. Trotter and Andrew Cornwell had two conversions apiece. J.R. Battest and Trotter had interceptions and Cody Allen a fumble recovery for Central, 1-0.
