Corcoran, an all-Kaw Valley League performer a year ago, had 19 carries for 186 yards and three touchdown runs in the Kaw's season-opening 33-6 victory over Leavenworth Immaculata, the defending league champion. He had TD runs of 53, 10 and 1 yards -- all in the first half -- plus kicked two PATs.

"Our line did a great job blocking the first half," P-L coach Charlie Golder said. "Joe makes things happen. We're glad to have him. He had holes to run through."
