  • Consider paying claims.
  • Consider drinking establishment licenses for the Mass Street Deli, 941 Mass., and the Yacht Club, 530 Wisc., both contingent upon state licenses.
  • Consider renewing a cereal malt beverage license for Pizza Hut, 4651 W. Sixth, contingent upon state license.
  • Vote on appointments recommended by the mayor.
  • Consider awarding a bid for the sale of a fire truck from Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical to the sole bidder, H-O-T Fire and Safety, for $2,101.
  • Consider waiving estimate and awarding bid for the Social Service League renovation to the low bidder, Harris Construction Services Inc., for $22,883.
  • Hear first reading of Ordinance No. 7145, reinstating parking along the west side of Louisiana Street from 160 feet south of 13th Street to 14th Street.
  • Hear first reading of Ordinance No. 7146, establishing yield signs on 28th Terrace at Four Wheel Drive and at the Iowa Street Frontage Road.
  • Hear second and final reading of Ordinance No. 7087, granting tax abatement to Sauer-Sundstrand.
  • Hear second and final reading of Ordinance No. 7140, adopting the 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code
  • Hear second and final reading of Ordinance No. 7143, allowing the sale of alcoholic beverages at the Celtic music festival in Burcham Park, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Oct. 9.
  • Consider a site plan for additions to two buildings and additional parking for Cottonwood, 2801 W. 31st St.
  • Consider a site plan for the conversion and renovation of an existing residence/office to solely office space at 1711 Mass.
  • Consider findings of fact and approval of a Use Permitted Upon Review (UPR) request for the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper, to construct a new community building northwest of the existing Douglas County Extension Office.
  • Consider findings of fact and approval of a rezoning request, and authorize drafting of an ordinance for placement on a future agenda for first reading to rezone approximately 7.023 acres from RS-1 (Single-family residence district) to RS-2 Single-family residence district) on property located 130 feet east of Harper, south of East 17th Street and north of the existing mobile home park.
  • Consider findings of fact and approval of a rezoning request, and authorize drafting of an ordinance for placement on a future agenda for first reading on a request to rezone approximately 2.269 acres currently included in the Sixth and Monterey Way PCD, from PCD-2 (Planned Commercial Development) to PCD-2 (Planned Commercial Development) for the Sixth and Comet Lane PCD.
  • Consider findings of fact and approval of a rezoning request, and authorize drafting of an ordinance for placement on a future agenda for first reading a request to rezone approximately 1.390 acres at 1231 E. 23rd St. from RS-1 (single-family residence district) to C-4 (General Commercial District). The property is commonly known as 1231 E. 23rd St.
  • Consider text amendments to Chapter 20, Article 16 of the Lawrence City Code, and Article 19 of the Zoning Regulations for Unincorporated Portions of Douglas County, Kansas, to establish a time limit on Use Permitted Upon Review (UPR) and Conditional Use Permit (CUP) approvals.
  • Consider a Preliminary Development Plan for Sixth and Comet Lane PCD-2, on the west side of Comet Lane, between West Sixth and West Seventh streets.
  • Consider amendments to Transportation Improvement Program for FY 1999-2003 regarding funding the fixed route bus system.
  • Consider authorizing the city manager to enter an Agreement to Plat for the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds property.
  • Consider authorizing the city manager to enter into an Agreement to Plat for the property located at 1711 Mass.
  • Consider withdrawal of about 2.269 acres from the Sixth and Monterey Way Planned Commercial Development.
  • Consider authorizing the mayor to execute water, sewer and gas line easements on city-owned property adjacent to the Riverfront and Barbed Wire buildings.
  • Consider authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation for the construction of a recreational path on the west side of Kasold Drive, from Clinton Parkway to the South Lawrence Trafficway recreational path (along Kasold at about 31st Street.)
  • Consider authorizing the mayor to sign a release of mortgage for Barbara Lumley, 218 Ala.
  • Conduct a public sale of temporary notes and general obligation bonds.
  • Consider first reading of Ordinance No. 7147, providing an electric franchise agreement to Kaw Valley Electric Cooperative.
  • Consider first reading of Ordinance No. 7138, establishing system development charges as amended by the city commission on Sept. 7.
  • Conduct a public hearing on proposed revocation of sidewalk dining license for Brown Bear Brewery, 729 Mass.
  • Receive an engineering report concerning South Park wading pool.
