Scharff-Lockwood

Debbie Scharff and Matthew Lockwood, Lenexa, were married April 24, 1999, at First United Methodist Church, Lawrence, with the Rev. Missy Black officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Rachel Lindbloom, Lawrence, and Glen Scharff, Olathe. The groom is the son of Elaine and Dan Lockwood, Hutchinson.

Bridesmaids were Kaely Walker, Becky Hoxie and Jennifer Marlow. Groomsmen were Scott Fossey, Brad Lockwood and Steve Scharff.

Maisie Scharff was flowergirl. Dalton Hartley was ring bearer. Sheri and Gary Floyd attended the guestbook. Dan Abrahamson was organist. Clint Hoxie was soloist. Jeff, Lori and Justin Lightcap attended the gift table. Elisa Drake, Bridgette Tevis and Julie Menefee served cake.

The bride earned a bachelor's degree in human biology from Kansas University and completed coursework in physician assistant studies at Wichita State University. She is employed by Picture Hills Family Medicine, Kansas City, Mo.

The groom graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor's in Physician Assistant Studies. He is employed with Cotton O'Neil Clinic, McLouth.

The couple live in Lenexa.

Witters-Houk

Sara Beth Witters, Lawrence, and Lucas Daniel Houk, Raymore, Mo., were married June 26, 1999, at First Southern Baptist Church, Lawrence, with Mr. Lonny Houk and the Rev. Lynn Witters officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Lynn H. and Sharron Witters, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Lonny and Katy Houk, Raymore, Mo.

Elena Zastrow was maid of honor, and Ryan Holst was best man. Lacy Houk and Lani Burress were bridesmaids. Christ Todd and Jeff Witters were groomsmen.

Jamie and Alex Scott were flowergirls. Phil Christesen, Phil Dahl, Corey Kenney, Keith Schubert, Stephen Scott and Joseph Wiley were ushers. The bride is a 1995 graduate of Lawrence High School. She holds a nursing degree from Mid America Nazarene University. She works at St. Joseph's Hospital, Lexington, Ky.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Blue Ridge Christian School, Kansas City, Mo. He holds bachelor's degree in religion from Mid America Nazarene University. He is attending Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Ky.

The couple live in Wilmore, Ky.

Sergent-Marshall

Susan Sergent, Lacygne, and Chris Marshall, St. Louis, were married on July 31, 1999, at First Christian Church, Lawrence, with the Rev. Ron Goodman officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ron and Joyce Sergent, Lacygne. The groom is the son of Mike and Linda Marshall, Lansing.

The groom is a 1991 graduate of Lawrence High. He holds a bachelor's degree from Baker University. He is employed as a senior account executive with the Waylon Company, St. Louis, Mo.

Spain-Nelson

Kelly Ann Spain, Lawrence, and Peter Edmund Nelson, Singapore, were married July 3, 1999, at Botanica Gardens in Wichita, with the Rev. John Nelson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Darrel and Julie Spain, Lawrence. The groom is the son of John and Betty Lou Nelson, Singapore.

The groom is a graduate of Singapore American School. He earned a bachelor's in aerospace engineering from Kansas University. He is a test engineer with Cessna Aircraft Co.

The couple live in Wichita.

Shipstead-Moore

Stephanie Marie Shipstead and Jason Scott Moore were married May 8, 1999, at Danforth Chapel on the Kansas University campus in Lawrence with the Rev. Nancy Thellman officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jacque and Sam Shipstead, Lawrence. She is the granddaughter of Ella and George Brahler, Lawrence, and Betty and Lee Shipstead, Manitou Springs, Colo. The groom is the son of Joyce and John Moore, Cottage Grove, Ore.

Hilarie Shipstead and John Moore were honor attendants. Debra Priest and Christy Honse were bridesmaids. Jeff and Jerry Moore were groomsmen.

Weaver-Lynch

Ginny Weaver and Brendan Lynch, Somerville, Mass., were married July 4, 1999, at the home of the bride's parents in Lawrence, with Judge Jean Shepherd officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Rob and Betsy Weaver, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Bill Lynch, Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., and Nancy Raab, Kansas City, Mo.

The bride is a 1986 graduate of Lawrence High School who attended the University of Massachusetts. She is a singer and songwriter for the indie rock band Star Ghost Dog and is employed by The Exeter Group, Cambridge, Mass.

The groom is a 1988 graduate of Dobbs Ferry (N.Y.) High School and a 1992 graduate of Hampshire College. He is a guitarist and songwriter for Star Ghost Dog. He is a production assistant for the Internet company JuniorNet.
