DONALD S. "BILL" LANE

Topeka -- Graveside services for Donald S. "Bill" Lane, 77, Buckville, Ark., will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka, with military services by the Fort Riley Military Funeral Detail.

Mr. Lane died Thursday, Sept. 9, 1999, at his son's home in Buckville, Ark.

He was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Hutchinson, the son of Leroy and Rachel Elizabeth (Gash) Lane. He moved to Buckville, Ark., in July from Topeka.

Mr. Lane served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He had worked for Hankamer Asphalt, Topeka, and Clinton Wholesale Brokerage and A.S. Stevens Brokerage, both in Dodge City.

He married Leona A. Curtis on Sept. 2, 1945, in Topeka. She died Jan. 2, 1989. He married Helen M. Weilert on Feb. 14, 1992, in Garden City. She died in January 1998.

Survivors include three sons, Donald R., Buckville, Ark., and Rick L. and Daniel F., both of Topeka; a daughter, Carol J. Lane, Topeka; a stepson, Harold M. Stultz, Lawrence; a brother, Raymond, Topeka; a sister, Gladys Hoppe, Yermo, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Davidson Funeral Home, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The family suggests memorials to Midland Hospice or Homecare Hospice, Hot Springs, Ark., and they may be sent in care of Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N. Kansas, Topeka 66608.
