HealthWave insurance
information available
The Kansas Children's Service League is sponsoring an information booth for HealthWave, a statewide insurance program for children in low-income families.
Deena Wilson, a volunteer for the KCSL, will provide information about the low-cost insurance from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Wal-Mart, 3300 Iowa.
"They can get information about HealthWave, and get help filling out an application," Wilson said. "We want to get the word out to as many people as possible."
Medicaid recipients are not eligible, and the program is based on income guidelines. The insurance covers children from birth to their 19th birthday.
To apply or to inquire about eligibility requirements, call 1-800-792-4884 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, or from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
