Law enforcement report

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 19-year-old male KU student reported a Pioneer AM/FM compact disc player and other items valued at $1,395 stolen from his vehicle between 12:45 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. Tuesday from the 1000 block of Emery.
  • A 21-year-old female Haskell Indian Nations University student reported her 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix was stolen between 12:40 a.m. and 11:50 a.m. Thursday from the 500 block of Locust.

Condition reports

  • Joshua Longhat, Zuni, N.M., was in fair condition Thursday at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 29.
  • Kerry Jymm, 21, Gallup, N.M., was in critical condition Thursday at KUMC, where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 29.
  • Clint Wahquahboshuk, 23, Mayetta, was in critical condition Thursday at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 29.
  • Kim A. Groenhagen, 35, McLouth, was in fair condition Thursday at KUMC, where he is recovering from burn injuries sustained in a July 30 fire at Heetco Inc.
  • Dan Blomgren, Lawrence, was in serious condition Thursday at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Sept 1.
  • Zachary Brouhard, 6, Lawrence, was released Thursday from Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was recovering from injuries sustained from a bicycle-car collision since Monday.

District court

Criminal case proceedings

  • District Court Judge Paula Martin scheduled a preliminary hearing for Loc Arnaud, 26, Lawrence, at 9 a.m. Oct. 21. He has been charged with aggravated battery, no insurance and driving under the influence following an injury accident near 10th and Tennessee in June 1998.
