NEWTON WAYNE REDFORD

Canyon Country, Calif. -- Services for Newton Wayne Redford, 73, Canyon Country, Calif., were held Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Canyon Country Assembly of God Church. Burial was in Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth, Calif.

Mr. Redford died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, in a Valencia, Calif., hospital.

He was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Urich, Mo., the son of Thaddeus Newton and Gladys Beryl (Fann) Redford. He moved to Lawrence, Kan., in 1930, and then to California in 1948.

Mr. Redford worked in the laundry and dry cleaning business and was a manager of a mobile home park. He was a member of Canyon Country Assembly of God Church and was a former member of Lawrence Assembly of God Church.

He married Anna Arlene Miller on May 9, 1943, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Janice Confer, Barbara Cheeseman and Debbie Spaethe, all of Canyon Country; three sisters, Nadine Christie and Sharon Ray, both of Lawrence, Kan., and Carolyn Pippert, Lakewood Hills, Ozawkie, Kan.; and a brother, James Redford, Lakeside Village, Ozawkie; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Eternal Valley Funeral Home, Canyon Country, was in charge of arrangements.
