Burglaries and thefts reported
- A 46-year-old Ozawkie man reported a 1983 Mack truck valued at $12,000 and a trailer valued at $10,000 were stolen between 8:30 a.m. Sunday and 4 p.m. Tuesday from the 900 block of North First.
- A 45-year-old Lawrence female reported someone stole a Memorex television, a VCR and other items valued at a total of $2,019 between 6:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Tuesday from the 3200 block of Cardinal Drive.
- Three payroll checks valued together on a police report at $10,000 were stolen between Dec. 5, 1998, and March 19 from Farmer's Co-op Assn., 2121 Moodie Rd. The theft was reported to police Friday and made public in a report on Wednesday.

- A 25-year-old Lawrence female reported someone damaged the convertible top on her 1995 Miata between 10 p.m. Sunday and 9:20 a.m. Monday in the first block of Winona. Damage was $1,500.
Condition reports
- Joshua Longhat, Zuni, N.M., was in fair condition Wednesday at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 29.
- Kerry Jymm, 21, Gallup, N.M., was in critical condition Wednesday at KUMC, where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 29.
- Clint Wahquahboshuk, 23, Mayetta, was in critical condition Wednesday at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 29.
- Kim A. Groenhagen, 35, McLouth, was in fair condition Wednesday at KUMC, where he is recovering from burn injuries sustained in a July 30 fire at Heetco Inc. Groenhagen had been listed in critical condition Sunday.
- Dan Blomgren, Lawrence, was in serious condition Tuesday at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Sept 1.
