Law enforcement report

Burglaries and thefts reported

  • On Friday, a 44-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft of a .38-caliber, 5-shot Taurus pistol valued at $200 from the 3300 block of Trail Drive. The theft occurred sometime between Aug. 28 and Friday.
  • A 42-year-old Lawrence man reported an attempted burglary Thursday. The attempted break-in took place sometime between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. Thursday. A $60 window screen frame was destroyed.
  • Laird Noller Ford reported the theft of a Ford F-150 pickup truck between 4:10 p.m. and 4:35 p.m. Friday. The truck is valued at $20,000. A credit card also was stolen.
  • A 28-year-old Lawrence woman reported a burglary that occurred between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 900 block of E. 1000 Road. An 8mm video camera, a videotape recorder and a satellite receiver were reported stolen. Total value of the items taken is $775.

Police reports

  • A 37-year-old Lawrence man reported an aggravated assault with a knife or other cutting instrument at 3:15 p.m., Aug. 31, in the 500 block of Fireside Drive.
  • A 38-year-old Lawrence man reported a battery at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 2500 block of Via Linda.
  • A 24-year-old Lawrence man reported the destruction of double-pane glass windows and blinds with a combined value of $300. The windows were destroyed sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 3:12 a.m. Saturday.
  • Taco Bell, 1220 W. Sixth St., reported the destruction of an exterior drive-through speaker valued at $200. The criminal damage to property occurred at 12:45 a.m. Friday.
  • A 19-year-old Lawrence woman reported a domestic battery between 11:30 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. Friday in the 2300 block of Princeton.

Condition reports

  • Joshua Longhat, Zuni, N.M., was in fair condition Sunday at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 29.
  • Kerry Jymm, 21, Gallup, N.M., was in critical condition Sunday at KUMC, where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 29.
  • Clint Wahquahboshuk, 23, Mayetta, was in critical condition Sunday at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 29.
  • Kylee Stalkfleet, 15, Oskaloosa, was in fair condition Sunday at KUMC, where she is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Aug. 20.
  • Kim A. Groenhagen, 35, McLouth, was in critical condition Sunday at KUMC, where he is recovering from burn injuries sustained in a July 30 fire at Heetco Inc.
  • Dan Blomgren, Lawrence, was in serious condition Sunday at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where he is recovering from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Wednesday.
