Leavenworth Perry-Lecompton's football team defeated Leavenworth Immaculata, 33-6, on Saturday night in a rain-plagued season opener for both teams.
Halfback Joe Corcoran gained 186 yards on 19 carries. He scored on runs of 53, 10 and one yard. He also had two extra point kicks.
P-L held Immaculata to 25 yards rushing and 63 passing. The Kaws gained 243 yards.
Linebacker Josh Pritchard and defensive lineman Simon Gentry had several tackles on defense. Jared Swafford picked up a fumble and ran three yards for the Kaws' final score.
The Kaws will meet Basehor-Linwood at 7 p.m. Friday at P-L.
