Licenses available
on internet now
Kansas hunting and fishing licenses can now be purchased directly from the Wildlife and Parks' internet web site (www.kdwp.state.ks.us).
Anyone with an internet connection, a credit card and a printer can purchase and print a valid license from anywhere in the world.
There are additional charges associated with using this system, depending on the license or permit purchased. They are necessary to cover the cost of the online credit card validation.
Hunter ed courses
noted on website
Any hunter born on or after July 1, 1957, must successfully complete a certified hunter education class before hunting in Kansas.
There are more than 75 classes scheduled at this time. All are listed on the KDWP website at www.kdwp.state.ks.us/education/huntlist.html.
The information is also available by calling 316 672-5911.
Bird hunters must
have HIP stamp
Kansas migratory bird hunters, including dove and early teal season hunters, are reminded that they need to purchase a Harvest Information Program (HIP) stamp before hunting.
The program and the accompanying 50-cent stamp ($1 at county clerk vendors) are part of an effort by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Wildlife and Parks to collect more thorough information on migrant populations in specific regions of the U.S.
