To the editor:
On behalf of all the veterans in care facilities in Kansas, especially those of the Kansas Soldiers Home in Fort Dodge, I would like to express sincere appreciation for the articles written in the Lawrence Journal-World lately, addressing their needs at all levels. Veterans' budgets have been drastically cut on both the federal and state levels. Therefore, since both the federal and state governments have a surplus, I wonder why some of it hasn't been directed to our deserving, needy veterans?
