The power outage in Baldwin didn't prevent Baker from playing some of its varsity-alumni football game Saturday night. Baker's varsity football team defeated the alumni, 21-7.
The game started 15 minutes early -- at 6:45 p.m. -- and ended at 8 p.m. when it was too dark to continue. In all, about one half of football was played. BU opens for real against Southwestern at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Baldwin.
"We just tried to make the best of it," coach John Frangoulis said. "Playing one half of football is better than playing none at all."
