Confirmed: 32,300. Trade quiet early, fairly active late morning, very slow afternoon. Slaughter steers and heifers steady with last Thursday. Inquiry good, demand moderate. Sales confirmed on 13700 slaughter steers and 18,600 slaughter heifers Thursday. For the week to date 80,400 head confirmed including 38,800 head or about 48 percent previously contracted or formulated cattle. Sales FOB feedlot net weights after 4 percent shrink.
Slaughter steers: select and choice 2-3 1030-1300 lb 66.00, about 1,700 head 66.50, few late 65.50; mostly select, few choice 1100-1400 lb 65.00; pen select and choice 1300 lb Holsteins 58.00. Dressed basis: select and choice 2-3 1100- 1125 lb 104.00, pen 103.50.
