IN 1899
On Sept. 3, 1899, the Lawrence World observed: "The benefits of doing the right thing by the university are already apparent. The institution has been equipped with ten new instructors and the work the coming year will be the best and most satisfactory ever known. Kansas is a great school state and its greatness is being added to each year. The precedent set by the legislature will work so satisfactorily that the next one will be anxious to continue the good work."
