New Web site
opens for musicians
Vbands.com, a Denver-based e-commerce company, opened Aug. 16. Vbands.com provides independent musicians across the country with the resources they need to distribute their music and merchandise via the Internet.
The company puts CDs and merchandise from independent artists in its online store for a nominal setup fee.
The store features CD art, track listings and Real Audio clips from bands. Artists can then link from their own home pages directly to Vbands.com to sell their merchandise.

Talk about grave sites.
At http://www.findagrave.com, you can gaze upon the burial places of thousands of celebrities, politicians, writers and scientists, to name a few. The Web site contains their standard tombstone information and, in most cases, a photograph of the person's actual grave.
The roster of dead folks ranges from the sublime to the ridiculous. Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony and Jimi Hendrix rest there as do Clyde Barrow, Marie Callender and Checkers (Richard Nixon's dog).
Many of the graveside photos are taken by fans of the Web site. For example, a former police officer from Ohio has contributed more than 150 graveyard photos. The ex-officer believes cemeteries are "a great stress reliever."
The site is the brainchild of Jim Tipton, 27. He describes himself this way: "I like: Donuts, combos, fake cheese, cheese, deep-fried products, my fog machine, reading, a selected few people and myself. I hate: All else."
Maybe if Tipton learns to hate less and love more, he'll develop www.findabirthplace.com.
