Senator to visit
Lawrence schools
A United States senator is taking up an invitation from a Lawrence school board member and will visit two Lawrence schools on Friday.
Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan., will arrive at 10 a.m. at Lawrence High School for a brief school tour and at 11 a.m. will visit Prairie Park elementary. There, principal Vicki Weseman will discuss the Literacy Learning Network program with Brownback.
The senator was invited to Lawrence by school board member Mary Loveland on behalf of the Lawrence Board of Education.
