MARY PAYNE
DeSoto -- Services for Mary J. Payne, 67, Olathe, will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at DeSoto United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Payne died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999.
She was born Jan. 15, 1932, in Glasgow, Scotland, and moved to the United States in 1947.
She was employed for many years in nursing services at Olathe Community Hospital and Humana Hospital.
Mrs. Payne was a member of the DeSoto Rotary Club, Order of Eastern Star and the Pleasant Hour Club.
She served on the board of directors for the DeSoto Multi-Service Center and was the board president of the DeSoto Days fall festival.
She married Calvin W. Payne. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her mother, Elizabeth L. McKenzie, Altaloma, Calif.; three sons, Bruce Payne, Baldwin Park, Calif., Randy Payne, Rome, Ga., and Brian Payne, Olathe; a daughter, Cindy King, Olathe; and eight grandchildren.
Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel in DeSoto is handling arrangements.
