MARION WALTER GINKENS

Oskaloosa -- Private inurnment for Marion Walter Ginkens, 85, Nortonville, formerly of Oskaloosa, will be at a later date at the Wilcox Cemetery in Viola, Iowa.

Mr. Ginkens died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999, at a Topeka hospital.

He was born Feb. 14, 1914, in Brighton, Iowa, the son of Fred and Bessie Ginkens. He was a 1932 graduate of Brighton High School.

Mr. Ginkens owned the Times Photo Shop in Anamosa, Iowa, and the Midway Horse Arena in Cedar Rapids for many years. He also owned and operated the Brown Hotel in Anamosa for several years.

He had lived in Jefferson County since 1992, moving from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He married Lela L. Reid on Dec. 24, 1947, in Anamosa. She died March 6, 1995.

Survivors include a daughter, Luciann Bean, Onslow, Iowa; a son, Bill, New Century; two sisters, Helen Kost, Rose Meade, Calif., and Esther Dorrance, Davenport, Iowa; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa handled arrangements.
