The University of Southern Illinois-Edwardsville Faculty Trio will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Swarthout Recital Hall in Murphy Hall. Members of the group are Lenora-Marya Anop, violin; Kangho Lee, cello; and Linda Perry, piano.
The recital will feature "Trio in C Minor, Op. 1, No. 3," by Ludwig van Beethoven; "Trio No. 2 in B Minor, Op. 76," by Joaquin Turina, and "Trio, Op. 90, ('Dumky')," by Antonin Dvorak.
Anop has performed more than 300 concerts throughout the United States, Europe and Australia as first violinist for the Rackham String Quartet. She is assistant professor of violin at University of Southern Illinois, where she also coaches chamber music, directs the school's Suzuki Strings Tour Group and is founder and director of the school's String Quartet Institute.
Lee was performed with orchestras in Korea, the United States and Europe as well as at the Music Academy of the West, Banff Centre for the Arts, Orford Arts Centre and the Sarasota Music Festival. He is assistant professor of cello and music theory at Edwardsville and is pursuing his doctorate of musical arts degree at the New England Conservatory of Music.
Perry is professor of music and director of the keyboard faculty at Edwardsville, where she also coordinates a graduate program in accompanying and chamber music for pianists. She performs extensively as a recitalist and chamber musician. She recently recorded a CD of music for clarinet, violin and piano with the Meridian Trio and her edition of George Frederick Pinto's "Sonatas for Piano and Violin" was published this year.
The recital is free and open to the public.
