11 a.m.-1 p.m.: Volunteer orientation session, conducted by the Community Drop-In Center Inc., Oread Friends Meeting House, 1146 Ore. The drop-in center provides services to people who are homeless.

SUNDAY

10 a.m.-2 p.m.: Lawrence Jewish Community Center's 36th annual Blintz Brunch, 917 Highland Dr.

6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.: Halloween Beggars Night. Homeowners wishing to participate in trick-or-treating are advised to leave porch lights on for costumed youths.
