Taylor-Ness

Deborah Taylor, Olathe, and Benjamin Ness, Lawrence, were married May 29, 1999, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Overland Park, with the Revs. Don Davidson and Rebecca Schubert officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Kathryn A. and L. Franklin Taylor II, Olathe. The groom is the son of John B. and Nancy E. Ness, Lawrence.

Laura J. Taylor was matron of honor. Ryan Ness was best man.

Bridesmaids were Shana Palazola, Jeannie Jones and Johanna Wagenknecht. Groomsmen were Matthew Wiltanger, Nick Meinheit and Alan Rose.

A reception was held at Cedar Creek Swim and Racquet Club, Olathe.

The bride is a graduate of Olathe North High School and Kansas University. She is a student at Kansas University Law School.

The groom is a graduate of Lawrence High School who attends Kansas University. He is a clerk to the hearings officer at Douglas County Courthouse.

The couple live in Lawrence.

DeHoff-Hovorka

Wendy Jordan DeHoff, Lawrence, and Dr. John William Hovorka, Mission, were married June 25, 1999, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Lawrence, with the Rev. Charles Polifka officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Patricia DeHoff, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Joseph and Julane Hovorka, Topeka.

Jodi DeHoff was maid of honor. Michael Ramirez was best man. Bridesmaids were Salma Sabhan, Hillary Taylor, Jennifer Reames, Anna Ramirez, Susan Hovorka and Mary Hovorka. Groomsmen were Joseph Desch, Dr. Vincent Hayes, Dana Field, Daniel Wilkenson, Mike Emmert and Scott Harbour.

Elizabeth Pollock and Maureen Ramirez were flowergirls. Alex Travis and John Pollock were ring bearers. Mary Lee Robbins attended the guest book. Sally Goodwin and May Leblon were cake servers. Mark Fortino was vocalist.

A reception was held at the Lawrence Holidome.

The bride is a 1990 graduate of Lawrence High School, holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Baker University and attended graduate school at Washburn University.

The groom is a 1986 graduate of Topeka High School and holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Washburn University. He completed medical school at Kansas University and surgical residencies at West Virginia University, Texas Tech and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He is a surgeon in private practice in Alpine, Tex.

The couple reside in Alpine, Tex.

Thomas-Fortner

Jessica Elizabeth Thomas, Lawrence, and Nathan Andrew Fortner, Overland Park, were married Sept. 4, 1999, at First Southern Baptist Church, Lawrence, with the Rev. Tom Stallworth officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Francis Marion and Mary Ann Thomas, Lawrence. The groom is the son of James Lee and Joyce Elaine Fortner, Colwich.

Alica H. Thomas was maid of honor. Chandler L. Fortner was best man.

Bridesmaids were Shelley Box, Heidi Peirce and Jessica Zellermeyer. Groomsmen were Patrick Murphy, Grant Wimmer and Dave Bischof. Zane Zentic was ring bearer. Michaela Riley was flowergirl. Ryan Box and Allison McDaniel were candle lighters.

A reception was held at the Ministry in Action Center, First Southern Baptist Church, Lawrence.

The bride is a graduate of Lawrence High School and holds a degree in music therapy from Kansas University. She is a paraprofessional at Quail Run School, Lawrence.

The groom is a graduate of Kirkwood High School, Kirkwood, Mo., and attended Kansas University. He is an assistant manager with Sherwin-Williams Paints, Overland Park.

The couple live in Lenexa.

Green-Suiter

Amy Green and Beatty Suiter were married Aug. 14, 1999, at First United Methodist Church, Lawrence, with the Revs. Ross Sackman and Missy Black officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Bob and Joyce Green, Ottawa. The groom is the son of Dr. Dan and Marcia Suiter, Pratt.

Mindy McDaniel was maid of honor. Brent Suiter was best man. Bridesmaids were Katherine Siegrist, Spring Pankratz and Cisley Owen. Groomsmen were Alok Srivastaya, Michael Weishaar and Todd Hernandez.

Brenna Parvin was flowergirl. Clay Stanley was ring bearer. Jason Green was usher. Dan Abrahamson was organist. The Kansas University String Quartet provided music.

A reception was held at Lawrence Country Club.

The bride holds degrees in psychology and occupational therapy from Kansas University. She is an occupational therapist at Children's Hospital, San Diego.

The groom holds degrees in microbiology and medicine from Kansas University. He is a post-graduate researcher in ophthalmology at the University of California at San Diego.

The couple reside in La Jolla, Calif.
