JIMMY LEE HUNTER
Services for Jimmy Lee Hunter, 66, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military services by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Alford Clark Post No. 852.
Mr. Hunter died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, at his home.
He was born Sept. 8, 1933, in Lawrence, the son of Alfred Lee and Florence Julia (Humphrey) Hunter. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1952.
Mr. Hunter served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and worked at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and the Topeka State Hospital, before retiring in 1996. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Alford Clark Post No. 852, and a member of the Plumbers and Pipe fitters Local No. 763, Lawrence.
He married Freda Mae Davidson on Dec. 23, 1970, in Kansas City, Mo. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Julia Lee Hultz, Appleton City, Mo.; and a grandchild.
He raised Michael Dale Fugett, Lawrence.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
