FESTIVAL FUN

Here is a schedule of events for the 42nd annual Baldwin Maple Leaf Festival, today and Sunday:

Arts and crafts booths, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Eighth and Chapel streets; indoor booths at Stacy's Dance Studio, corner of Eighth and High streets, fire station on High Street.

Outdoor booths offering souvenirs and food open all day, today and Sunday.

Quilt Show, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Baldwin Elementary School.

The Palmyra 4-H Club Children's Parade, 10:45 a.m. today, downtown.

Grand Parade, "Maple Leafing Through the Pages of Time," 11 a.m. today, downtown.

Old-fashioned Maple Leaf Melodrama, "Shakespeare in Trouble," Baldwin City Theatre/C.L.E.A.R., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. today, all-weather tent at Seventh and Grove streets.

Live country and bluegrass music and dancing, both days, downtown tent.

Old Castle Dancers, 2 p.m. today and Sunday, Hartley Plaza, Baker University campus.

Living history demonstrations, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Old Castle Museum.

Free bus tours with Rotarian tourmasters, 12:30 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4:15 p.m., today and Sunday.

Carnival and Kids Zone (rides, petting zoo and other special activities), both days, Seventh and High streets.

Art Show, both days, Baldwin City Library.

The Midland Railway will offer rides with hourly departures, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Quayle Rare Bible Exhibit, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Collins Library, Baker University campus.

Maple Leaf Circulators, square dancing performance, 8 p.m. today, Vinland School, one mile east of Vinland Airport.

Fourth annual Baldwin City Maple Leaf Cross-Country Run (and one-mile fun run), 8:30 a.m. today, Baldwin Municipal Golf Course.

Street Vaulting Competition, 1 p.m. today and Sunday, Seventh and High streets (Collins Gymnasium in case of rain).

Free public lecture by Deanna Spingola, author and master watercolor quilter, 8 a.m. Sunday, Owens Musical Arts Building, Baker University.
