Jill Dorsey, a 5-foot-7 hitter and all-Class 3A performer a year ago, led Wellsville High in aces (15), serve receive average (2.7), digs (48) and kills (46) plus was second on the team in stuff blocks (9) during the Eagles' run to the Wellsville Invitational title Saturday.
"She played every point of every match," WHS coach John Dowling said. "She was exhausted at the end of the day. Her desire to win is tremendous."
On Tuesday, Dorsey led the Eagles with 20 kills and 14 digs in victories over Anderson County and Spring Hill.
Dorsey has team highs in kills (244), digs (187) and hitting efficiency (.275) for the Eagles, 20-6 overall and 5-2 in the Frontier League.
