The Douglas County District Attorney's office continues to wait for reports on an Aug. 29 multiple-fatality accident before deciding its course of action.

Douglas County Dist. Atty. Christine Kenney Tonkovich said she expects later this week to receive the last reports from the North Lawrence accident that killed four men.

A Chevy S-10 pickup truck driven by Manuel Brown, 20, struck the Union Pacific railroad tracks near Seventh and Maple streets and rolled over, ejecting six occupants from the pickup's bed.

A Lawrence Police Department report said alcohol contributed to the accident, and blood-alcohol samples have been sent to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. Tonkovich would not specify the reports that her office is awaiting. She likewise would not identify which agencies had not yet submitted their accident reports to her office.

Killed immediately in the accident were: Yancy Longhat, 20, of Zuni, N.M.; Albert Whitebull, 25, of Kenel, S.D.; and Ray "Mike" Red Elk, 24, of Anadarko, Okla. Clint Wahquahboshkuk, 23, of Mayetta, died later at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
