Norman, Okla. Kansas University recovered from a loss in the first game and rocked Oklahoma, 3-15, 15-8, 15-9, 15-2, in Big 12 volleyball Wednesday night.
"I can't explain the first game," said KU coach Ray Bechard, whose team improved to 12-4 overall and 3-2 in the Big 12. "I think we just came out a little sluggish. Once we settled into our game, we were steady the rest of the way. Our left side was awesome tonight.
"Oklahoma was very physical, but once we took them out of their game and rebounded from game one, we just turned it on from there."
Senior Amanda Reves, who belted 19 kills to go with eight digs and four blocks, led the Jayhawks. Hitter Mary Beth Albrecht chipped in 16 kills, while sophomore setter Molly LaMere paced the team with 51 assists. Junior transfer Sara Kidd led the team with a career-high 11 digs.
Kansas hit .377 for the match -- a new KU team four-game record. The previous four-game record was .336, set against Texas-Pan American on Sept. 20, 1996.
Kansas' next match is 7 p.m. Saturday against Baylor at the Horejsi Center.
