Several events are planned for this year's Haskell Indian Nations University fall homecoming, beginning with a reception at 3 p.m. today for the 16 students nominated for homecoming queen.
The reception, which is open to the public, will be in the Haskell Auditorium.
Students will vote for the candidates of their choice from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday in the Eagle Nest area of Tecumseh Hall.
Also on Friday, an on-campus homecoming parade, featuring the queen candidates, floats, dignitaries, cheerleaders, dancers and the Haskell and South Junior High School bands will begin at 3:45 p.m. Recent retirees Francis Girty, Woody Wilson and Etta Mae Pulliam will serve as the parade's grand marshals.
A pep rally for the fall sports teams begins at 7 p.m. Friday at Haskell Auditorium.
The homecoming queen will be announced during the Peru College vs. Haskell football game. Kickoff is 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Also on Saturday, the Haskell volleyball team will play host to Central College at 7 p.m. in the Coffin Complex.
