Is death by electrocution cruel and unusual punishment?

Dustin Johnson,

carpenter,

Lawrence

"It depends on what state of mind you're in before you go. Some people go to the chair in fear and some go happy the moment has finally arrived. I don't know if you can judge the chair by itself; I don't think it lasts long enough to be an overwhelmingly cruel thing."

Kelsey Richardson,

store clerk,

Lawrence

"Yeah, because being electrocuted is pretty unusual. I don't know about the cruelty so much, I'm not sure they know a lot about how it actually feels, but it's definitely extremely unusual."

Mark Sheets,

sales representative,

Wichita

"It depends on the situation. If somebody killed somebody violently and on purpose, then it's probably deserved."

Eric Martin,

WSU student,

Wichita

"I'd have to say so because I don't think anybody should judge someone by killing them because they're doing the same thing as was done to the person who was killed."
