After a high speed pursuit from the downtownt area to east Lawrence, Lawrence Police Officers, Jim Martin, left, and James White put leg restraints on an assault and battery suspect while his friends wait by the vehicle after midnight, Saturday morning. Weekend nights have always been the busiest and most exciting for Lawrence's finest, even during the summer with most of the college population gone.
