KDOT warns drivers
of resurfacing project
Motorists traveling between Lawrence and Kansas City on Kansas Highway 10 could face delays with the start of a resurfacing project on the road.
Kim Athon of the Kansas Department of Transportation said that crews began an overlay project Thursday on the highway. When completed, K-10 from the east Lawrence city limits to the Douglas-Johnson county line will be resurfaced.
Athon said crews will work only on two-mile sections of the road at one time in an effort to minimize the inconvenience for drivers. But the work at times will require traffic to be reduced to one lane in either direction, she said.
The project is scheduled to be completed in seven to eight weeks, weather permitting.
