Services for Gerald Lee "Jerry" Hadl, 72, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hadl died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Lawrence.
He was born Jan. 4, 1927, in Lawrence, the son of August P. and Viola M. Transmeier Hadl.
He worked as a pipe fitter for Kansas Public Service in Lawrence until he retired in 1991.
He was in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and served during the Korean War.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He had a great interest in animals, woodcrafts, the outdoors and collecting duck decoys.
He married Margery Skinner on March 1, 1953, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Trudy E. Hadl, Kansas City, Mo., and L. Susan Hadl, Lawrence; and two brothers, Laverne E. and R. Dean, both of Lawrence.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Lawrence Humane Society. Memorials may be sent in care of the mortuary.
