Clinton Lake roads

Golfers will have to have to do a little extra driving before they get to the tee box at Eagle Bend Golf Course this summer.

Starting June 2, the road across the Clinton Lake Dam is scheduled to be blocked for repairs, along with access to the road below Clinton Dam that leads to the golf course on the north. Golfers will be able to reach the course by driving south on U.S. Highway 59 and then west on Douglas County Road 458, which connects with the road below the dam.

David Rhoades, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park manager at Clinton Lake, said repairs to the dam road have been limited to chip and seal maintenance since it was built in 1977. Upcoming repairs, which are scheduled to be completed by Aug. 31, will include resurfacing.

The South Outlet Park below the dam will be inaccessible during the repairs, but Judy's Junction, the Overlook Park and Clinton State Park will be open to traffic off Clinton Parkway.
