IN 1974

Negotiators for Lawrence teachers and the school board had reached agreement on all but two points for a teacher contract proposal for the coming year. The salary issues had been resolved and both sides had agreed on a referendum to allow for wider funding for additional increases in salaries.

Lawrence High senior Paul Draper was named a National Merit Scholarship winner for a four-year period.

A complete financial audit was under way in regard to the Woodlawn School behavior analysis program following allegations of the misappropriation of funds.
