— Services for Irene Wise Spence Williams, 88, Topeka, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence.

Mrs. Williams died Friday, April 30, 1999, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

She was born Feb. 3, 1911, in Bethany, Mo., the daughter of Shelby J. and Julia Castle Wise. She spent most of her life in Topeka; she had lived at Brandon Woods for less than two months.

She worked as a barracks supervisor at the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant, DeSoto. She also worked for 27 years at the first Russell Stover's store, Topeka.

Mrs. Williams was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the Bulah Chapter of Eastern Star, the Horticultural Study Club and the Ward Meade Council Club.

She married Alva Spence on Sept. 11, 1929. He died May 23, 1964. She married Louie Williams on Sept. 3, 1970. He died Feb. 5, 1999.

A son, Leroy Spence, died Jan. 10, 1983.

Survivors include by a stepdaughter, Susan Morgan, La Habra, Calif.; two granddaughters, both of Lawrence; five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday.

The family suggests memorials may be made to the Shriners' Crippled Children's Hospital, sent in care of the funeral home, 1035 N. Kansas Ave, Topeka 66608.
