Lilyhorn-Saunders

Amy Lilyhorn, Manhattan, and Dan Saunders, Lawrence, announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Wendell and Barbara Lilyhorn, Hutchinson. The future groom is the son of Mary Ann Saunders, Lawrence, and the late Charles Saunders.

The future bride is a 1997 graduate of McLouth High School. She is a sophomore at Kansas State University, where she is majoring in graphic design.

The future groom is a 1994 graduate of Lawrence High School who attended Kansas University. He works on a farm north of Lawrence.

The couple plan a May 21, 1999, wedding in Lawrence.

Cindy Downing and Daniel Decker, both of Pittsburg, announce their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of Donna Downing, Mound City, and the late George Downing. The future groom is the son of Donald Decker, Winchester, and Janet Coleman, Lawrence.

The future bride is a graduate of Jayhawk-Linn High School, Mound City. She attends Pittsburg State University and is employed at Shields Adult Care Home, Pittsburg.

The future groom is a graduate of Jefferson County North High School, Winchester. He will graduate in May from Pittsburg State University. He is employed at Thomas Manufacturing, Girard.

The couple plan a June 19, 1999, wedding at Community Christian Church, Fort Scott.

Longstreth-Scroggs

Jerry and Martha Longstreth, Lenexa, announce the engagement of their daughter, Patricia Mae Longstreth, to Jason Lance Scroggs, son of Doyle and De Ann Scroggs, Butler, Mo. Grandparents of the future bride are George and Ruby Thorpe, DeSoto.

The future bride attended Lawrence High School and is a graduate of Kansas University. She is employed by jewelry designer Paul Klecka, Chicago.

The future groom attended Baldwin High School and is a graduate of KU. He is an assistant manager at Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Joliet, Ill.

The couple plan a June 27, 1999, wedding at Longview Mansion, Lee's Summit, Mo.

Dean-McKee

John and Joan Dean, Perry, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Marie Dean, Salina, to Bryant McKee, Abilene, son of Michael and Sue McKee, Wamego.

The future bride is a graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Kansas University. She received a master's degree in psychology and education specialist degree in school psychology from Pittsburg State University. She is a school psychologist at Central Kansas Cooperative in Education, Salina.

The future groom is a graduate of Wamego High School. He received a bachelor's degree in psychology and physical education and a master's certification in learning disabilities from Emporia State University. He is a teacher at Roosevelt-Lincoln Junior High School and a coach at Salina Central High School, Salina.

The couple plan a July 10, 1999, wedding at the St. Lawrence Catholic Chapel, Lawrence.

Yoder-Maddux

Janice Yoder and Mark Maddux, together with their parents, Stephen and Mary Yoder, and Lanny and Patricia Maddux, all of Lawrence, announce their engagement.

The future bride is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is attending Johnson County Community College, where she is studying nursing.

The future groom is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. He is in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in Pensacola, Fla.

How they met

We met our junior year of high school and dated off and on for the last three years. We were high school sweethearts.

He attends graduate school at Webster University, Kansas City, pursuing a master's in business administration. He is a network systems specialist at Commerce Bank, Kansas City, Mo.

The couple plan an Aug. 7, 1999, wedding at First Presbyterian Church, Chillicothe.
