What is the city's policy on old signs? Independent Laundry moved out of the 500 block of Indiana about a year ago and the new owner has never taken down the old sign and has parked an old truck with a broken window in front of the store since last summer. Private property or not, this makes Indiana look kind of tacky.

City Manager Mike Wildgen said the city sign ordinance requires that "any sign existing which no longer advertises a bona fide business being conducted, or a product being sold, shall within thirty days after written notification from the building inspector be taken down and removed by the owner, agent or person having the beneficial use of the building."
