Meidinger-Haase

Robert Meidinger, Lenexa, announces the engagement of his daughter, Mindy Jo Meidinger, Lenexa, to Jerod Albert Haase, Lawrence.

The future bride also is the daughter of the late Charlotte Eileen Meidinger. The future groom is the son of Carol S. Haase and the late Gerald E. Haase.

The future bride earned a bachelor's degree with honors in psychology from Kansas University. She is employed by Andersen Consulting in Kansas City.

The future groom earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from KU, where he also played basketball from 1994 to 1997. He is a graduate assistant coach for the KU men's basketball team and is completing his master's degree in human resource management.

The couple plan an Aug. 7, 1999, wedding at St. Lawrence Catholic Center, Lawrence.

Digh-Lowe

Lt. Col. Ned P. Digh and Esther Digh, Fulton, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Dara E.W. Digh, Overland Park, to Christopher J. Lowe, Overland Park.

The future bride is a 1989 graduate of Fulton High School and is a 1993 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. She also holds a degree in medicine from Northwestern University. She is completing her final year of residency in family practice at Truman Medical Center-East in Kansas City, Mo.

The future groom is the son of Michael and Caren Lowe, Lawrence. He is a 1990 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1994 graduate of Kansas University. He earned a law degree from Marquette University Law School in 1997. He has accepted a position with the Kansas City law firm, Larson & Larson, after recently completing a two-year clerkship for Judge Lee E. Wells of the 16th Judicial Circuit.

The couple plan an Aug. 7, 1999, wedding at St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury in Fulton, Mo.

Abbasi-Ali

Najabat Ali and Tasneem Abbasi, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Asma Abbasi, Lawrence, to Dr. Sadeem Ali, Livingston, N.J.

The future bride is a 1993 graduate of Lawrence High School who majored in biology at Kansas University. She works at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

The future groom is the son of Absar Abdul and Nusrat Ali, Lahore, Pakistan. He graduated in 1997 from King Edward Medical School in Lahore, Pakistan. He currently is performing research on human dialysis with St. Barnabas Hospital in New Jersey.

The couple plan an Aug. 28, 1999, wedding in Lawrence.

Monahan-Carreno

Carole Monahan, Blaine, announces the engagement of her daughter, Kelley Sue Monahan, to Cpl. Jason Ryan Carreno, son of Randy and Ann Carreno, Ozawkie.

The future bride, who also is the daughter of the late James Monahan, is a 1994 graduate of McLouth High School. She is a correctional officer for the Jefferson County sheriff's department.

The future groom is a 1996 graduate of Oskaloosa High School and is enlisted in the United States Marine Corps with Instructor Battalion, Combat Instructor Company, Infantry Platoon, The Basic School, Quantico, Va.

The couple plan a Dec. 26, 1999, wedding.

Guy-Burton

John and Carol Guy, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Lynn Guy, to Rusty Earl Burton, the son of Jim and Brenda Burton, Baldwin.

The future bride is a 1998 graduate of Free State High School who is attending Kansas City, Kan., Community College. The future groom is a supervisor of security for Baldwin High School.

The couple plan a July 24, 1999, wedding at Worden United Methodist Church.

The future bride is a 1988 graduate of Lawrence High School. She is a manager/bookkeeper for a family-owned business.

The future groom is a 1982 graduate of Lawrence High School. He graduated in 1986 from Kansas University with a bachelor's degree in business administration and in 1989 with a master's of business administration from Rockhurst College. He owns a Lawrence business.

The couple plan an Oct. 9, 1999, wedding at First United Methodist Church, Lawrence.

Cawley-Masoner

Mr. and Mrs. Dennis G. Cawley, Shawnee, announce the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Cawley, Kansas City, Mo., to Christopher J. Masoner, Lawrence.

The future bride is a graduate of Kansas University who holds a master's degree from Northwestern University and a law degree from the University of Texas. She is an associate with Bryan Cave, LLP.

The future groom is the son of Melissa Masoner and James ConCannon, Topeka, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Masoner, Tucson, Ariz. He is a graduate of Colorado College who holds a law degree from Wake Forest University. He is an associate with Todd Thompson & Associates, Lawrence.

The couple plan an October 1999 wedding at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Roeland Park.

Gentry-Helm

Ken and Jan Gentry, Lawrence, and John and Bonnie Helm, Rolla, Mo., announce the engagement of their children, Lindsay Gentry and Jonathan Helm.

The couple met in fall 1997 at University Christian Fellowship at Kansas University.

The future bride is a 1996 graduate of Lawrence High School who is a student at Kansas University. She plans to graduate in spring 2000 with a degree in early childhood education.

The future groom is a 1993 graduate of Rolla High School who holds a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Missouri-Rolla and a master's degree in higher education from Kansas University. He is assistant registrar at the University of Missouri-Rolla.

The couple plan a June 17, 2000, wedding at First Baptist Church in Rolla.
